Tomorrow at Holland Farmers Market Kids Activities, families are invited to enjoy
“symphony snacks” with the Holland Symphony Orchestra and Community Action House! The Market
Kids Activities are held at the Holland Farmers Market every Wednesday from 9:30 am – 11:30 am
through August 13. The Activities are free to attend and begin with Market Story Time hosted by the
Herrick District Library, followed by a fun, educational, and hands-on activity led by a local community

Musicians from the Holland Symphony Orchestra will be at the Market Kids Activities tomorrow,
Wednesday, August 5 to perform a family-friendly mini concert in celebration of their Gift of Music
weekend! Families will be invited to join in on the fun as part of this interactive concert. Community Action
House will also be here at the Kids Activities, sharing samples and recipes of healthy snacks that feature
fruits and vegetables available at the Market!
Founded in 1990, the Holland Symphony Orchestra is a professional, community-supported ensemble
committed to engaging all people through music to enrich the cultural life of West Michigan. To that end,
Holland Symphony Orchestra strives to meet the following goals: create varied, quality symphonic
concerts to entertain and inspire, provide educational programs to promote a lifelong interest in music,
expand relevant community collaborations and respond to community needs, increase audience and
patron participation, and assure responsible stewardship of financial and human resources.
Community Action House’s purpose is to end poverty in the local community and help families prosper.
They provide area families and individuals with food, clothing, shelter, and the opportunity to build the
necessary skills to achieve a stable and prosperous life. They provide numerous services for the
community, including an outreach team for the unhoused, a food club, financial wellness programs, a
resale store, a community garden and kitchen, and more.
The weekly Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market begin with an interactive Market Story Time hosted by the Herrick District Library starting at 9:30 am, followed by a drop-in activity led by a local non-
profit organization or business from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. All activities planned are educational, hands-on, and fun and are geared for ages 3-10. The full schedule of activities can be found below and
on the Holland Farmers Market website. Activities are free to attend, but a parent or guardian must
remain onsite the entire time to supervise their children. Activities take place in the northwest parking lot
outside of the Holland Civic Center Place (150 West 8th Street). The 2025 Market Kids Activities are
proudly sponsored by Corewell Health.
