Dust off your pearls and polish those wingtip shoes—Muskegon is going back in time! The Hackley and Hume Historic Site invites the community to the Roaring 20s Tea Event on Friday, June 21, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. This special event offers a unique blend of local history, vintage fashion, and timeless tradition.

Guests will enjoy a classic afternoon tea service with a 1920s flair, including a selection of teas, coffee, and lemonade, accompanied by a spread of sweet and savory treats. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best 1920s attire. In addition to refreshments, the event features a special 1920s-themed presentation.

“The Hackley and Hume Historic Site is the ideal backdrop for an event like this,” said Historic Sites Director Erin Schmitz. “Hosting a 1920s tea event here allows us to share the story of Muskegon’s golden age in a way that’s fun and engaging for all ages.”

Constructed in the late 1800s, the Hackley and Hume Houses reflect the prosperity of Muskegon’s lumber era and serve as stunning examples of Queen Anne-style architecture. The site has been carefully preserved to showcase the original craftsmanship, decor, and daily life of two of Muskegon’s most influential families.

Tickets are $15 for non-members, $12 for members, and $7 for children under 12. Space is limited, and advance registration is recommended.

Guests should check in at the City Barn (carriage house) located behind the Hackley and Hume Historic Site. Free parking is available on Webster Avenue and 6th Street. Reserve your tickets today at bit.ly/20sTea.
