St. Cecilia Music Center (SCMC) presents the Blind Boys of Alabama performing their beloved Christmas Show on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. From their GRAMMY® Award-winning 2004 Go Tell It on the Mountain and 2014 Talkin' Christmas albums, this holiday performance will thrill the Grand Rapids audience as it has to sell-out audiences in other prestigious venues like Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

Described as ‘James Brown does gospel’, the Blind Boys of Alabama are recognized worldwide as true living legends of Gospel music. Celebrated by both The Grammy Foundation and The National Endowment for the Arts with Lifetime Achievement Awards, inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, and winners of five GRAMMY® Awards, they have attained the highest levels of recognition for a career that spans over 60 years. In the Christmas Show, the Blind Boys present holiday standards from their Grammy winning 2004 ‘Go Tell It On The Mountain’ and 2014 ‘Talkin’ Christmas albums. The holiday tour debuted in 2003 and has included sellout shows at such prestigious venues as Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, among others.
