Join the Michigan Maritime Museum for a night of food, fun, and entertainment at their 22nd Annual Fish Boil Fundraiser on July 20th from 5 pm to 8 pm (or until the fish run out). With the new expansion of the Museum's waterfront boardwalk, guests can enjoy this traditional Great Lakes meal and the best harbor views in town!
This event serves to raise funds for the Museum and further its mission to celebrate, preserve, promote, and steward the vibrant heritage and culture of Michigan's Great Lakes and waterways. Fish Boils are a long-standing tradition in Great Lakes culture beginning around the turn of the 20th century. The Michigan Maritime Museum is proud to continue this timeless tradition and share this part of Great Lakes history with the South Haven community.
Guests will experience an authentic, traditional Great Lakes Fish Boil with lake fish, potatoes, and onions served with melted butter and lemon, a roll and cole slaw, and finish dinner with a cup of ice cream. In addition, traditional folk musician Ben Traverse returns to the Museum to provide live music on the boardwalk adding an extra special touch to this year's event. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, cash bar, and games.
"This is such a special year for the Museum with us celebrating our 50th Anniversary,” said Executive Director Patti Montgomery Reinert. "The Fish Boil has become a staple event here illustrating our mission and the community we have spent 50 years building." The Museum would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to this year's sponsors including the anglers of the Star of the Lake Lodge Masonic tournament, Ace Hardware, Barden's Farm Market, Clementine's, Phoenix Street on Broadway, Sherman's Ice Cream, and South Haven Public Schools.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $20 per plate and $10 for children 12 and younger. For more information, visit www.michiganmaritimemuseum.org.
