Tibbits Opera House is set to present the 24th Smith Memorial Benefit Concert on Sunday, September 21. This year’s event will feature the Riverside Connection Dance Band, from the West Michigan area.
The Riverside Connection Dance Band features an exciting fusion of classic brass band and jazz arrangements along with contemporary pop music. The band performs at weddings, dance events, concerts and galas, bringing along a blend of swing, pop, blues, hustle, country, polka and more.
The Smith Memorial Benefit Concert is organized by Diane Smith Pridgeon and Susanne Smith Wise to honor their late family members, Ruth, Robert, Douglas and Dean Smith. This year’s concert will support the Tibbits’ efforts to bring arts programs for the schools in and around Branch County. Previous benefit concerts have supported the Coldwater High School Choral Department, Kellogg Community Choral Union’s Baltic Tour, Habitat for Humanity, Family Promise and other non-profits.
“The concert celebrates friends, delights in music and serves others. We've held it annually at Tibbits and enjoyed exceptional talent. All are encouraged to attend and with the proceeds we'll be opening Tibbits' doors for more children to experience the arts.” Pridgeon said.
Theatre-goers are invited to experience an exceptional evening of music that celebrates a beloved family and strengthens community ties. The Smith Memorial Concert highlights the profound impact of music and philanthropy in bringing people together. Be part of this cherished tradition that underscores the enduring power of collective support and shared purpose.
Tickets for the concert are priced between $10 and $20, including fees. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit Tibbits.org, call 517-278-6029, or visit the Tibbits office at 93 W. Chicago St.
