The Petoskey Area Visitors Bureau has launched a new livestream webcam from a historic building in downtown Petoskey, showcasing exceptional real-time views of Bayfront Park and the Petoskey Clocktower, the Petoskey Break Wall and iconic beacon, and Lake Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay. Viewers can access the webcam, which officially went live on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at this link.

The camera is mounted at 405 E. Lake Street in Petoskey’s historic Gaslight District at the Petoskey Masonic Lodge #344. Originally built in 1883, the building has housed many businesses, including the Petoskey Cigar Company, City Bottle Works, and Fred Walkenstein’s Tailor Shop. Today it is home to Dave’s Boot Shop & Russell’s Shoes.

“This webcam is one of the best ways to bring downtown Petoskey directly to your screen,” said Jim  Powell, executive director of the Petoskey Area Visitors Bureau. “Whether you are downstate,  across town, or halfway around the world, we invite you to tune into the webcam at any time of day  to see what is happening right now – from our million-dollar sunsets to vibrant fall foliage to the first  snowfall of winter.”

While the Petoskey Area is known for its year-round natural beauty, the webcam offers particularly memorable views during:

  • Signature area events, including:
    • Fourth of July Fireworks (Petoskey & Harbor Springs)
    • Boyne Thunder Powerboat Poker Run (July 11-12, 2025)
    • Ugotta Regatta (July 25-27, 2025)
    • Balloons over Bay Harbor (September 12-14, 2025)
    • Petoskey’s famous million-dollar sunsets
    • Fall color season in September and October
    • First snowfall of the winter season
    • Spring thaw – when the ice on Little Traverse Bay begins to break apart
    • Early spring bloom as the leaves begin to bud
    • Real-time weather updates in every season

With this new addition, the Petoskey Area Visitors Bureau invites everyone – locals, visitors, and viewers alike – to experience the charm and natural beauty of downtown Petoskey from anywhere in the world.
