The Grand Rapids Downtown Market, West Michigan’s destination for world-class culinary experiences, award-winning event spaces, food entrepreneurship, and community-focused events, is thrilled to announce Champagne of Champions, a tasting event hosted by Detroit Pistons NBA Champion Hall of Famer and Cheurlin Champagne owner Isiah Thomas. This event takes place in the Downtown Market’s Greenhouse on November 20, 2025 from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
Guests will enjoy a guided, strolling tasting featuring four of Cheurlin’s premiere champagnes: the crisp Brut Spéciale, the bold Rosé de Saignée, the refined Célébrité and the exceptional Le Champion, each personally introduced by Isiah Thomas himself.
As guests sip and sample they will hear Isiah share the inspiring story of his journey from the courts into the world of Champagne, from the French vineyards of Landreville to becoming the owner of what many have deemed one of the finest champagnes in the world.
The tasting will be accompanied by a beautifully curated grazing table featuring artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, and gourmet accoutrements, offering the perfect pairing experience. Tickets include all champagne tastings, food, tax, gratuity, and service charge.
