Lowell Arts announces the world premiere production of Accidental Roommates, a new play by Grand Rapids playwright, Brent Alles, directed by Lyssara Ford. The production opens October 17, 2025, and runs for two weekends in the gallery turned theatre located at 223 W Main Street in downtown Lowell.
In this heart-warming comedy, Evelyn Foster finds her already challenging life upended when her opinionated mother, Christine, moves in following the death of Christine’s second husband. Evelyn begrudgingly agrees to host their fiercely critical mother for a "temporary" stay that threatens to become permanent. Between managing her mom’s endless demands, dodging old resentments, and trying not to throttle her daughter Marie (whose life choices are questionable at best), Evelyn finds an unexpected bright spot in Ken, a charming roofing contractor, who may be exactly what she didn’t know she needed. Even as tensions rise and misunderstandings multiply, it's never too late to patch a roof… or a relationship.
The production features the talented creative team of Lyssara Ford as Director, Zack Conrad as Stage Manager, Amelia Ford as Assistant Stage Manager, and Caitlin Hart as Intimacy Choreographer.

The theater opens 30 minutes before each performance. Due to mature themes this production is rated PG-13 and recommended for audiences ages 13 and above.
Tickets: $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. Lowell Arts Members receive 20% discount.
Location and Accessibility: Lowell Arts is located at 223 W Main St, Lowell, MI 49331. The facility is fully accessible with a ramped entrance near handicapped parking spots, automatic exterior doors, and wheelchair-accessible restrooms. Certified service animals are welcome. Easy-access parking is available behind the building. Visitors with special needs are encouraged to contact the theater in advance of their visit.
