This Wednesday at Holland Farmers Market Kids Activities, families are invited to an informative and interactive session on body safety led by the Children’s Advocacy Center. The Market Kids Activities are held at the Holland Farmers Market every Wednesday from 9:30 am – 11:30 am through August 13. The Activities are free to attend and begin with Market Story Time hosted by the Herrick District Library, followed by a fun, educational, and hands-on activity led by a local community partner. The 2025 Market Kids Activities are proudly sponsored by Corewell Health.
This Wednesday, July 30, the trained educators from the Children’s Advocacy Center will be here to help parents and their children learn about body safety and how to prevent child abuse. Children will have the opportunity to make a “safe adult" beaded bracelet and a get a “boss of my body" temporary tattoo, along with other hands-on activities. The Children’s Advocacy Center will also have helpful resources to share with parents.
The Children's Advocacy Center exists to prevent and intervene in child sexual abuse. They are located in Holland and serve all of Ottawa County. Through community education, they work to prevent and disrupt child sexual abuse in our community, with the ultimate goal of eliminating the need for their services. Until then, they continue providing children and adults with critical prevention messaging. When abuse is reported in our community, the Children’s Advocacy Center also provides coordinated, collaborative, and expert care for the child and family as they navigate life post-disclosure.
The weekly Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market begin with an interactive Market Story Time hosted by the Herrick District Library starting at 9:30 am, followed by a drop-in activity led by a local non-profit organization or business from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. All activities planned are educational, hands-on, and fun and are geared for ages 3-10. The full schedule of activities can be found below and on the Holland Farmers Market website. Activities are free to attend, but a parent or guardian must remain onsite the entire time to supervise their children. Activities take place in the northwest parking lot outside of the Holland Civic Center Place (150 West 8th Street). The 2025 Market Kids Activities are proudly sponsored by Corewell Health.
