Fiesta Week in Downtown Holland officially kicks off this Wednesday, July 16 at the Holland Farmers Market Kids Activities from 9:30 am – 11:30 am! In partnership with Latin Americans United for Progress (LAUP), the entire community is invited to Downtown Holland from July 16 – 20 for a week of children’s activities, live music, dancing, food, and fun as we join together to celebrate the culture and contributions of our local Latinx community!

This Wednesday beginning at 9:30 am, the Herrick District Library will host a special bi-lingual edition of Market Story Time in celebration of Fiesta Week!  Then from 10:00 am – 11:30 am, families are invited to sample Agua Frescas while learning from the LAUP team all about the important role that fresh fruits and vegetables play in Latinx cuisine. Celebrate how food unites different cultures and get moving with salsa music at this fun and interactive Market Kids Activity hosted by LAUP.

The mission of LAUP is to empower Latinos to participate in creating a better community for all through advocacy, education, and celebration. Their vision is to be the center of influence in the Latino community that builds bridges to opportunities and creates pathways to success for all. LAUP’s numerous programs and services include a small business hub, workforce development, youth program for elementary, middle school, and high school students, an ESL and digital literacy program, Spanish language classes, document translation and interpretations services, and more.

The weekly Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market begin with an interactive Market Story Time hosted by the Herrick District Library starting at 9:30 am, followed by a drop-in activity led by a local non-profit organization or business from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. All activities planned are educational, hands-on, and fun and are geared for ages 3-10. The full schedule of activities can be found below and on the Holland Farmers Market website. Activities are free to attend, but a parent or guardian must remain onsite the entire time to supervise their children. Activities take place in the northwest parking lot outside of the Holland Civic Center Place (150 West 8th Street). The 2025 Market Kids Activities are proudly sponsored by Corewell Health.
