This summer, the Lakeshore Museum Center is thrilled to put on two immersive and educational programs designed to engage children with the wonders of science, history, and creativity. The STEM Workshops and the Enviroworks Day Camp will give young learners the opportunity to explore new topics through hands-on activities, local history, and museum experiences.

The STEM Workshops will take place on June 18 and June 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Muskegon Museum of History and Science. Open to children ages 8 to 15, each session focuses on a unique theme. On June 18, participants will explore “Architectural Construction of the Past,” learning how buildings and structures were developed throughout history. Campers will construct miniature replicas and take a walking tour to observe the architectural details of the historic Hackley & Hume Site. On June 25, the theme shifts to “Tin Punching,” where attendees will dive into 1700s tinsmithing traditions, discovering the tools and techniques used and creating their own tin-punched artwork.

Each STEM Workshop requires separate registration and is $20 per session for non-members and $15 for museum members. Families can register through Zeffy at zeffy.com/ticketing/2025-stem-workshops.

Following the STEM series, the museum will host its Enviroworks Day Camp from July 21 through July 25. The camp runs daily from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the museum’s auditorium and is open to children aged 6 to 12. This week-long camp blends science and history through a variety of engaging topics, including public art and statues, World War II, and an exciting visit to the Hackley & Hume Historic Site. Campers will enjoy a host of educational activities designed to inspire learning in a fun and interactive environment.

The cost for Enviroworks is $30 for non-members and $25 for members, with registration available at zeffy.com/ticketing/2025-enviroworks-day-camp. Space is limited for both programs, so early registration is encouraged to secure a spot.
