Celebrate the holiday season with a sea-shanty holiday concert at the Michigan Maritime Museum! Join us in our Maritime Heritage Center on December 13th from 6pm – 8pm for the next segment of our Holidays at the Heritage Center celebration. This family-friendly holiday concert featuring Shantyland will include classic, holiday tunes and traditional Great Lakes sea shanties. Get in the holiday spirit as we use music to journey into Michigan's maritime past. Shantyland consists of the Grand Rapids duo Michael Dause (Treeskin, Moss Manor) and Ben Traverse (Earthwork Music Collective). The West Michigan music scene is no stranger to collaboration, and it was only a matter of time before these friends teamed up for a special collaboration celebrating water and tradition. “We are so thrilled to be able to offer this program that celebrates the holiday season and Michigan’s maritime history,” said Ashley Deming, Director of Education and Administration. Tickets are $10 for museum members, $15 for non-members, and kids 12 and under are free. The doors will open at 5:30pm.
