Locked Zoo: Dinosaur Dash welcomes teams for themed game, puzzles, exploration

Thrill-seekers have an upcoming opportunity to work against the clock, solve puzzles and explore John Ball Zoo during a new upcoming event.

“Locked Zoo: Dinosaur Dash” is an exhilarating after-hours event that transforms the Zoo into a dinosaur-themed escape game, similar to an escape room. The event takes place 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 and Friday, Oct. 4 and is offered for guests ages 18 and up in teams of one to six people.

“For the first time, John Ball Zoo is welcoming guests to explore the Zoo in an entirely new way and work together to solve puzzles and other mysteries,” said Darci Mitchell, promotions & events manager. “This is a great opportunity for a fun night out with friends to explore the Zoo with no children and contribute to the conservation of wildlife and wild places.”

During the event, teams will work against the clock as they unravel prehistoric mysteries, solve intricate puzzles and explore the Zoo during Dino Adventures, which features more than 20 life-size robotic dinosaurs throughout the Zoo.

Guests participating in Locked Zoo can enter the Zoo at any time between 5-7 p.m., though it’s recommended teams allow themselves two hours to complete the game. Teams should have at least one fully charged cell phone to allow them to complete tasks during the game. A variety of food and drink options will be available for purchase during the event.

Locked Zoo tickets are $30 for John Ball Zoo members and $35 for non-members. Tickets are available on the Zoo’s website for both the September and October events.
