GRAPE NEWS
Harvest 2026 is in full swing at Black Star Farms, and our dedicated winery team is working tirelessly to transform each bin of grapes into regionally expressive wines. It truly takes a village—from those in the vineyards carefully handpicking each cluster, to the skilled crews at the wineries expertly sorting, crushing, and fermenting the grapes.
While winemakers direct the show, every finished bottle is a testament to the unwavering dedication of their hardworking teams.
Current State of Affairs
Many of the early-ripening whites and reds have been rolling in, such as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Gamay. Head Winemaker Lee Lutes says he is happy with what he has seen so far, with fairly clean fruit and good sugar levels.
Still to come are the later-season grapes like Riesling, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Lee asks all to send positive thoughts for minimal rain and plenty of sunshine in the forecast to help them reach their optimal ripeness.
Planning to Visit
There’s no better time to visit our tasting rooms than during harvest, when the energy is truly infectious. With our winemaking facilities onsite, you may even catch a glimpse of the process.
However, for your safety, please keep a respectful distance from the action, as heavy machinery will be in use.
