Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum Make A Seed Bomb, April 11; 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. and Stick Pick on April 22.
Spring is blooming at the beautiful Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum in South Haven — a National Historic Landmark and the birthplace of Liberty Hyde Bailey Jr., known as the Father of Modern Horticulture. This charming museum and garden setting is the perfect place to celebrate Earth Month with hands-on, family-friendly fun.
On April 11 from 11:00 a.m. to noon, bring the kids out to create their very own Seed Bombs — a fun and easy way to plant wildflowers and celebrate the season. These clay-packed seed creations can be planted or tossed into your garden to see what blooms. The program is held in conjunction with the StoryWalk® feature, highlighting the book Harlem Grown, making it both educational and inspiring.
Then on April 22 at 5:00 p.m., it’s time for the annual Stick Pick! Help clean up the museum grounds, gather fallen branches, enjoy some fresh spring air, and give back to one of South Haven’s most treasured historic sites. It’s a simple way to make a big difference — and get those steps in, too.

Farmers Alley Theatre, Good Night Oscar Gilmore Piano Festival, April 14 to May 2nd;
And April 24 - Complimentary Pre-show Champagne Reception from 6 - 7:00 p.m.
A powerful night of live theatre begins April 14 at Farmers Alley Theatre in downtown Kalamazoo. In collaboration with the world-renowned Gilmore Piano Festival, Farmers Alley presents Good Night, Oscar, running through May 2.
Set in 1958 on the set of Jack Paar’s late-night television show, the production tells the unforgettable story of Oscar Levant — pianist, actor, and famously sharp-witted personality who once said, “There’s a fine line between genius and insanity; I have erased this line.”
This gripping production explores humor, heartbreak, fame, and the cost of living in the spotlight. It’s smart, entertaining, and deeply moving theatre.
And here’s a special bonus — attend the April 24 performance and enjoy a complimentary pre-show champagne reception from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. before the curtain rises.
