Make some turns and make a difference when you hit the slopes at Crystal Mountain. Purchase a “Ski and ride for BACN” lift ticket for December 14 and $5 from every lift ticket sold will be donated to Benzie Area Christian Neighbors (BACN).
The non-profit organization is on a mission to improve the quality of life for people with limited resources by providing food, clothing, financial assistance, education and social support.
“The services that BACN provides wouldn’t be possible without the support from the community, whether that be from volunteers or donations from local businesses,” said Liz Ham, BACN Programs Director. “We appreciate Crystal Mountain for utilizing their fun atmosphere to not only raise money for BACN but also shine a light on who we are and what we do.”
In 2023, BACN welcomed 6,455 visits to their food pantry, supplied more than 13,000 bags of clothing and household goods, and provided nearly $18,000 in financial assistance to help community members with Weatherization, utilities, transportation, medical expenses, transportation, education and other emergent needs.
Based on the numbers, it’s estimated that BACN serves approximately 3,500 unique individuals per year.
“This is part of what being in the hospitality industry is all about – taking care of people, whether it’s our guests or our neighbors,” said Karyn Thorr, Crystal Mountain COO. “As we enter the season of giving, we’re happy to use our platform to highlight the generosity of our community and support organizations, like BACN, who lead the charge on helping those in need.”
Ski and Ride for BACN lift tickets are available online and at the ticket window: $40 for adults (ages 18-64), $35 for seniors (ages 65-79), and $30 for juniors (ages 7-17). The Ski and Ride for BACN lift ticket is only available for use on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
