Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse has served as a point in the storm and guiding beacon on the Straits of Mackinac for more than 130 years. On National Lighthouse Day, August 7, join the interpretive staff of Old Mackinac Point for games, tours, and more, as the ‘Castle on the Straits’ is celebrated.
Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse will be open 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., with special tours and programs throughout the day. Highlights include special walking tours and programs at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m., yard games and lemonade at 12:00 p.m., and a special “Archaeology at Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse” program at 2:00 p.m. See below for a full list of events.
