River Adventures~Of the five Wild and Scenic Rivers in Michigan's Lower Peninsula, three flow through Manistee County creating 276 miles of rivers and streams. Paddling the Manistee waterways varies from the gentle flow of the Big Manistee River to the swift white water twists and turns of the Pine River. View the salmon egg harvest at the DNR Weir on the Little Manistee River during the fall color season.

Hiking & Biking Trails~Manistee County has mountain and road biking trails from the shores of Lake Michigan to the winding rivers through the Manistee National Forest. Useful maps for North Country Trail, Manistee River Trail, Arcadia Dunes, the Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary and many more state and federal trail systems at the link above.
