On Monday April 8, 2024 Kalamazoo will be plunged into near darkness during the next total solar eclipse. This eclipse will cross North America, reaching its peak totality in Kalamazoo just after 3pm E.T. It is expected that millions of people from around the country will witness this astronomical event, creating incredible memories for those of all ages. While the Air Zoo isn't in the path of totality, we will still experience an incredible deep partial eclipse.

Consider joining us for a celebration of the cosmic dance of the sun and moon during a Solar Eclipse Viewing Party from 1:30-3pm, on Monday, April 8th at the Air Zoo Aerospace and Science Center. To celebrate this monumental event, the Air Zoo will be hosting an array of sun-themed educational activities. Bask in the solar-inspired ambiance, as the sun takes center stage at 1:30pm and join fellow enthusiasts as we eagerly await peak totality just after 3pm (EST) for this unforgettable eclipse experience.

Hours: 1:00pm Activities, 3:10 pm peak (95.5% a deep partial eclipse)
Activities: Constructing pinhole viewers, modeling the eclipse, participating in citizen science projects by recording observations of the eclipse and more!
Glasses: Available while supplies last at no charge on the day of the eclipse
