FLEET WEEK

Learn about…the Blessing of the Fleet Exhibit – June 27 @ 10am
Visit the Harbor Springs History Museum to view our new exhibition about the Blessing of the Fleet. The display chronicles how the event has grown over the past decade and features an original oil painting by Trisha Witty. Admission by donation.

Learn about…Great Lakes “Cutter Rescues” – June 28 @ 5:30pm
Historian Ric Mixter tells the heroic history of four Great Lakes Coast Guard cutters; Mackinaw, Sundew, Hollyhock and Escanaba, profiling seven rescues that saved over 200 lives from 1934 until 1966. Held at the Harbor Springs History Museum. Tickets are $25 each and include wine and light snacks. Reservations required.

Learn aboard…the Schooner Madeline – June 29 & 30 @ 10am – 4pm
Free dockside hands-on tours from bow to stern. The Madeline is a reconstruction of a mid-19th century Great Lakes schooner and is operated by the Maritime Heritage Alliance. The Historical Society is hosting them for two days of public tours from the main city dock. No reservations are required, though school and camp groups are encouraged to call 231.526.9771 to schedule tour times.

Step aboard…luxury historic yachts, Canim and Eleganté – June 29 @ 5pm
Climb aboard these two historic watercraft for a one-of-a-kind event. Tickets include guided tours of both Canim and Eleganté, a cocktail party and a commemorative gift. Held at the Boathouse of Harbor Springs. Tickets are $250 each; spaces are very limited. Reservations required.

Cruise on board…the Isle Royale Queen III – June 30 @ 5pm
Enjoy a full-service bar and light snacks while viewing the boat parade from the inside cabin or top deck of this historic yacht. Departs from Walstrom Marine in Harbor Springs. Tickets are $200; spaces are limited. Reservations required.

Blessing Boat Parade – June 30 @ 6pm
Register your watercraft today and take part in our annual boat parade on the harbor. Each vessel is blessed for a safe and fun boating season as they parade by our flagship, Canim. Vessels of all shapes and sizes are welcome. While registration is free, donations of $200 or more include a commemorative 10-year baseball cap. Radio and course information are emailed to registered parade participants in the week leading up to the event. Registration required.
