Welcome to Spring! Pierce Cedar Creek Institute is a nature and environment education center in Hastings set on 742 acres with 9 miles of hiking trails. Silver Lake Sand Dunes

Silver Lake State Park is scheduled to open May 1st, celebrating 2,000 acres of sand dunes. Every year, sand-riding enthusiasts descend upon the dunes to celebrate this playground. The dunes remain accessible through October 31st. The southern end of the dunes is home to Mac Woods Dune Rides, which offers visitors a seven-mile tour of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. It’s Spring at Virtue Cider, and we are busy with plantings and bringing our animals out from their winter enclosures. Currently, our farm and taproom are closed to the public, but we still have cider to share! We are accepting online orders for curbside pick-up and offer a “CCSA” box – cider- and community-supported agriculture – of cider and locally grown food and local products to support our neighbors and friends working to feed the community.
