“Things to Do, Places to Go” Podcast 11/11/2022

Today is Veterans Day, and the Air Zoo in Portage is hosting events and activities in honor of those who have served our country. Throughout the month of November, the Air Zoo has a special temporary exhibit Uniform and Insignia Interpretation, where they have one uniform from WWI, WWII, Korean War and the Vietnam War on display with interpretation of the insignia on each uniform. Veterans and their immediate families are also invited to visit the Air Zoo all day today, free of charge, as a way to say “thank you” for your service.

You’ll want to be sure to head to Saugatuck Center for the Arts for their Winter’s Eve Market! You’re invited to come for the cocktails, and stay for the shopping at this open-air shopping experience under the lights with artisan craft cocktails, Michigan-made wares, and live music. You can check it out next Friday, November 18th, from 4:30pm until 8:30pm. And if you’re feeling crafty yourself, you can join the Winter Whimsy Wreaths workshop during the event to create your very own holiday wreath or garland! It’s sure to be a great evening you won’t want to miss.

And if you’re still hunting for the perfect Thanksgiving dessert, you can stop by the Bowerman Blueberries Farm Market in Holland, this Saturday or next Saturday, the 12th or 19th, for their “Taste of Holiday Pies” event. They’ll have samples of their delicious pie options for you to try, and you’ll be able to place a pre-order for pickup the week of Thanksgiving. They have so many great pie options to choose from, like Pecan, Harvest Moon, and of course Pumpkin, Apple, and even Blueberry pies. They’ve got a full slate of delicious baked goods to enjoy too, so it’s definitely worth a visit this season!
