Aquastar Lake Cruises

This weekend Aquastar Lake Cruises resumes its nautical cruises! Go to Muskegon Lake and set sail around the lake and on into Lake Michigan for a number of delightful watery cruises this weekend and throughout the summer. This weekend the cruises include enjoyable afternoon tours and stunning sunset cruises. On Saturday at 8 PM, there will be a local craft beer, food, and music cruise, and on Sunday at 12 PM is the “Blessing of the Boats,” which includes a ceremonial lighthouse washing at the end of the channel.

Michigan Maritime Museum: Blessing of the Fleet & Fish Fry

The Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven will have the annual Blessing of the Fleet this Friday from 5:00 PM- 7:30 PM. The event features the tall ship Friends Good Will, along with other Museum vessels and many other South Haven harbor boats, engaged in a ceremony for a safe and successful season. The Blessing is followed by the kick-off picnic at the most picturesque location in the heart of South Haven’s Maritime District. From the docks, guests can watch the boats come and go and enjoy a delicious perch fish fry. Tickets for this great event are available at the door and online. 

South Haven Memorial Day Parade

A time-honored tradition and not-to-be-missed annual event, the South Haven Memorial Day Parade is true small-town Americana at its finest! Enjoy this colorful parade featuring South Haven’s local high school marching band, Post 49’s Color and Honor Guard marching to the beat, festive floats, ceremonial presenters, and other parade extravaganzas. The parade ends at the Lakeview cemetery with a reflective ceremony and three-rifle volley salute with echo taps, reflecting and honoring the military personnel who have died serving our country. The parade starts at 9:00 am on Monday in the middle of South Haven at Center Street and Michigan Avenue as it marches down Phoenix Street.  After the parade, wander the streets of beautiful South Haven and all it has to offer.
