“Things to Do, Places to Go”- COSY Podcast 1/27/2023

Here in West Michigan, we love our lakeside views; and there’s some great views even in the winter with the lake’s fantastic ice formations. A great way to check out the views this winter is by paying a visit to Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant in Holland for a delicious meal! Plus, on Thursday evenings, you can enjoy live local jazz music with your incredible food and drinks. It’s a great, fun way to add some variety to your week.

Since we’ve finally gotten a dusting of snow this week, Sarett Nature Center in Benton Harbor is hosting a Snowshoe Hike and Hot Dog Roast this Sunday afternoon, January 29th. From 2-3:30pm, you can bring the whole family out for the hike, where you can make a stop at the warm bonfire with hot drinks and roast hot dogs. This event is just $15 for non-member adults and the cost includes your snowshoe rental and food and drinks. You’ll want to give Sarett Nature Center a call to register for the event.

Next weekend, February 3-5 marks the 29th Ice Breaker Festival in South Haven! This event is gonna be full of winter fun for the whole family, featuring dazzling ice sculptures, a chili cook-off, Cardboard Sled Race, Pub Slide, outdoor ice skating, and so many more exciting activities throughout downtown South Haven. And of course, the highlight of the event is the sculpting of over 40 blocks of ice into beautiful creations, so be sure to take a stroll through downtown to see them all.
