Join us for the 2nd Annual Highlander Fest in St. Ignace. This event, co-organized by the Michigan Highlanders, features traditional Scottish Highland Games. Games include Cabor Toss, Hammer, Sheaf, and Stone Games, and all athletes wear traditional Scottish kilts and garb.
Games start at 10 AM at Coast Guard Park/Dock 3 in St. Ignace (1075 Huron St., St. Ignace, MI) on June 11 and will continue until 6 PM. There will be live music by the Pub Runners of Gaylord playing popular Irish American Folk music. We will also have a special guest at 4 PM; the Glen Erin Pipe and Drum band from Lansing will be performing.
Additionally, there will be a beer tent and several local food trucks onsite along with “Clan Row” featuring several Michigan chapters of Scottish clans, allowing guests with Scottish heritage to learn more about their lineage, their tartan, etc.
“This event was so fun last year and had a great turn out,” says St. Ignace Visitors Bureau Events Director Quincy Ranville, “We can’t wait to see what the new additions this year will do for this unique and family friendly event.”
