Road Trip to Michigan’s Cider Coast, The Best Kept Secret in The Midwest

As travel trends continue to shift with many wanting to get out of the house (safely), 2020 has been declared “The Summer of the Road Trip”. This summer and fall, take a road trip to charming Southwest Michigan and visit Virtue Cider, a cidery located on a 48-acre solar-powered farm on the Cider Coast of Lake Michigan in Fennville.

Located on the coast of Lake Michigan, Southwest Michigan is home to an assortment of local businesses, a thriving arts community, and some of the state’s best beaches. The area consists of charming towns including Saugatuck, Douglas, and Fennville. From summers on the water, to bountiful fall harvests, Southwest Michigan is known to be a magical place year round. Come spend time exploring and discover why so many people say, “There’s something magical about this place.”

To give you a headstart on planning, Virtue Cider has partnered with West Michigan Tourist Association (WMTA) to create an itinerary to make the most of your getaway.

Start your getaway with breakfast at The Southerner for southern-style dishes in a relaxed lakeside venue or a caffeine boost at Uncommon Coffee Roasters.

Head off to soak up the sun at Oval Beach before enjoying craft ciders and farm fun at Virtue Cider. Interested in raising pint of beer instead? Visit Waypost Brewing for craft beverage brewed in their open-air brewery.

As the day winds down, enjoy creative eats in the heart of downtown Fennville at Salt of the Earth, offering carryout as well as dine-in service.

Extend your visit with an overnight cabin stay at Company & Cottage.
