Richard Crane Memorial St. Ignace Truck Show Parade Change for 2023

St. Ignace Truck Show Parade Route Adjustment:

The Mackinac Bridge Authority is planning major construction over the summer/fall of 2023 to help ensure the continued safety and reliability of the Mackinac Bridge for years to come. Part of this construction will include a partial bridge closure beginning just after the Labor Day Bridge Walk and continuing through mid-November 2023. Please note that the bridge will remain open to regular traffic during this time.

The partial closure will require one half of the bridge to be closed moving two-way traffic to the other side of the bridge. This increased traffic pressure has led the Mackinac Bridge Authority to make the difficult decision to not allow event parades during that time, which includes the annual Richard Crane Memorial Parade of Lights during the St. Ignace Truck Show Weekend, among other events that will also be impacted. This change will be for 2023 only.

The Richard Crane Memorial St. Ignace Truck Show will still take place in St. Ignace September 15-17 and the Parade of Lights will also still take place on Saturday, September 16 at dusk. However, the parade will take place in St. Ignace only. The exact parade route will be determined shortly, but the best place to view the Parade of Lights will be along State Street in downtown St. Ignace. Our surveys and early registration numbers have indicated that registration numbers will be similar to past years, with approximately 200 trucks participating in the parade, so this is a show you will not want to miss!

This change will be for 2023 only. Next year and beyond, the parade will go back to its usual route which parades through downtown Mackinaw City on its way back to St. Ignace, pending Mackinac Bridge construction schedules. We are working diligently to make sure we get the word out far and wide to avoid any confusion among parade spectators during the show and we appreciate your patience and understanding regarding these changes and look forward to seeing you in St. Ignace this fall!
