(Grand Rapids, MI) One of the most popular headliners in the history of the West Michigan Golf Show (WMGS) will make a return visit to the 34th edition of the Show set for Feb. 11-13 in Grand Rapids. Philadelphia’s Lou Guzzi, the 2013 National PGA Teacher of the Year, will be on the Equitable Advisors Seminar Stage all weekend at DeVos Place. A headliner in 2014, Guzzi will enlighten and entertain golfers attending his free seminars.
“We’re so pleased to welcome Lou back to Grand Rapids,” said Carolyn Alt, Senior Manager for the Golf Show. “Our patrons really connect with his winning personality and his ability to simplify golf instruction. He’a a natural communicator.”
A Class A member of the PGA and a two-time Philadelphia Section PGA Teacher of the Year, Guzzi is the owner of the Lou Guzzi Golf Academy at Talamore CC in Ambler, PA. He’s been a member of GOLF’s magazine’s Top 100 Teachers since 2011 and has made several appearances on Golf Channel.
“It’s great to be going back to the West Michigan Golf Show,” said Guzzi. “I was so impressed with its history of teachers and how professional the entire show is managed. Avid golfers attend this show and there’s lot of energy and enthusiasm.”
Guzzi distills his teaching as stressing “solid fundamentals that have been proven to stand the test of time by the greatest players in the world.” His golf lessons all aim at being easy to understand, whether it’s the full swing, putting, chipping, bunker play or course management.
Besides Guzzi and other presenters, other popular features include the Treetops Hole-in-One Challenge, a Family Fun Golf Zone, free golf lessons, and a $10,000 putting contest.
Some of the top courses and resorts in and outside of Michigan will exhibit, offering travel savvy patrons the chance to book their rounds at the show. As always, the WMGS will be the ideal place for golfers to shop for the latest equipment, accessories and apparel.
Alt also cited the improvements made at DeVos Place in the past year for the state-of-art air filtration system and hygiene standards. “We take the safety and well-being of our patrons seriously.”
Sponsors of the 2022 Show are Treetops Resort, Golf Association of Michigan, Equitable Advisors, Golf Car Plus, Corona Premium, and Ferris State Univ. PGM Program.
