Oliver Art Center Announces Unique Fundraiser

Oliver Art Center‘s annual fundraising event is headed online for a second year and is geared towards everyone. This year’s event is called Oliver Art Center’s 30/30 Challenge and they are challenging the community to be creative for 30 minutes a day for 30 days. During the entire month of August, OAC wants people to engage in some form of art: visual arts, performing arts, martial arts, wellness arts, and much more.

Registrations are now on sale for kids, adults, families, and even businesses to participate! Starting August 1, each registrant will track their creative endeavors on a calendar. If people miss a day, they can make it up by doing an hour on another day. At the end of each full week, participants are encouraged to email a photo of their completed week to OAC to be included in drawings for door prizes. At the end of the month, finishers can turn in their completed log for a change to win a grand prize.

“This challenge is for everyone because art is for everyone! What I love about this fundraiser is that you don’t have to be an artist to participate – wellness arts includes running, yoga, sailing. Decorative arts include knitting, crochet, quilting. Even reading (literary arts) and building sand castles (sculpture) count! We are really hoping to not only generate some funds as this is our annual fundraiser, but we are hoping to do some ‘friend-raising’ too!” says Mercedes Michalowski, Executive Director. “We really miss our in person events and will be continuing them soon, but this year’s fundraiser will be a great way to bring attention to our community art center and its programming and to increase the population we serve.”

Registration runs from $10 for kids, $25 for individual adults; $75 for a family of four and $125 for a business. More information and registration can be found at:
