October is Magic Month at the American Museum of Magic!

Did you know that National Magic Week is officially the last week in October? The American Museum of Magic in Marshall, Michigan knows this, but it seems they can’t restrict the celebration to just one week! Therefore, the museum has declared October to be Magic Month.

“For families, there’s the Silly, Spooky Magic program on Saturday, October 16th,” said American Museum of Magic Director, Sara Schultz. “We’ll be teaching kids magic tricks that they can do with things commonly found at home and we’ll be handing out plenty of Halloween treats. Wanda the Wacky Witch, also known as Michigan magician, Jania Taylor, will be performing a family friendly magic show at the museum at noon.”

Silly Spooky Magic takes place on Saturday, October 16th from 10 am to 4 pm.

Also for families, there will be special Magic Month performances at the museum. Magician Jeffrey Alan will be performing on Saturday, October 23rd at 1 pm. Magician John Dudley will be performing a comedy magic show just in time for Halloween on Saturday, October 30th at 1 pm. Both performances will be on the Magic Box Theater stage located inside the museum. Reservations are not available, so visitors are advised to show up early to find their seat.

There is no additional cost for Silly, Spooky Magic or for magic shows beyond regular museum admission which is $7 for adults, $4.50 for ages 12-5 years old, and free for under 5 years old.

The fun isn’t just for kids. Adults can explore the more frightful side of magic history at the American Museum of Magic by taking a Haunting History of Magic Tour. Tours are available on October 16th at 7 pm and October 30th at 4 pm and 7 pm. Tours will take place by candlelight inside the museum’s historic 1860s building where tour guides will tell true stories of deadly stage accidents, magicians buried alive, and the history of seances.

Tour tickets are $21 and must be purchased ahead of time either on Eventbrite.com or by calling the museum at (269) 781-7570.
