Description
Historic Charlton Park: Village, Museum and Recreation Area has been a fixture in Barry County since 1936. The Park is referred to as the jewel of Barry County. Situated on 310 acres along beautiful Thornapple Lake, we offer opportunities for everyone! Cool off at the beach or launch your boat for watersports and fishing from our Recreation Area. Hike the trails and enjoy the tranquility of the Park's wooded areas or pack a picnic and spend time with your loved ones! Step back in time in the Historic Village! Visit the Stagecoach Stop, Schoolhouse, General Store and many other turn-of-the-century homes and businesses. Join us for our Special Events, including Charlton Park Day, Father's Day Car Show, 4th of July and Veteran's BBQ, Gas & Steam Engine Show, Civil War Muster, Great Lakes Longbow Invitational, All Hallows Evening and Of Christmas Past. We also participate in No Family Left Indoors, a countywide effort to get families outside during the summer. Looking for a charming place to hold a BBQ, corporate picnic, reunion or wedding?
