Central West Michigan Events

River Country Chamber’s annual Logging Fest sponsored by Elder’s Forest Products, began more than 70 years ago and continues to grow each year. Professional & Amateur LumberJacks & LumberJills provide lots of entertainment as they compete for top place. Shop for unique items from their vendors and grab a tasty treat from one of the food trucks. 

Experience Flower Mania at Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo in New Era, where visitors will find colorful zinnias and sunflowers during the weekends from August 5th through September 24th. Join them as 70+ big rigs, representing the businesses of West Michigan, make their way along the parade route from Zeeland through downtown Holland, ending at the Holland Civic Center.

A memorable way to bring a fun-filled summer to a close ,is the Annual Mackinac Bridge Walk! The only day of the year that walking across the ‘Mighty Mac’ is allowed! This annual event began in 1958 with only 68 walkers and is usually led by Michigan’s Governor. On September 4th, starting at 7:00 am, join thousands of participants led by the Governor for a 5-mile walk from St. Ignace to Mackinaw City. You can choose to walk the entire Bridge or turn back halfway. If you prefer, you can even take a ferry boat ride on the Mackinac Island Ferry Company or the Shepler’s Mackinac Island Ferry from Mackinaw City or St Ignace docks to return. After the walk, seize the opportunity to explore the city’s delightful shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Create wonderful memories as you bid farewell to summer. Discover exciting events in the Greater Cadillac Area from August 31st to September 4th! On September 1st, head to the Cadillac Area Farmers Market. It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore local produce and unique goods from 9 am to 3 pm. The following day, September 2nd, get ready for an active morning at the Cadillac Festival of the Races held at the Cadillac Rotary Pavilion from 8 am to 12 pm.
