Krasl Art Center announces exciting lineup for Block Party celebration!

Krasl Art Center (KAC) is thrilled to host the 61st Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff, presented by 1st Source Bank, on July 8 and 9, 2023. Guests can look forward to viewing the work of 170+ artists from across the nation on Saturday, and you won’t want to miss the Friday night Block Party!

In partnership with The Livery, the Block Party celebration has a full lineup in place for a thrilling evening honoring the exhibiting artists. Guests can enjoy beer and wine, food trucks, and live entertainment on Friday, July 7, from 5 – 10 pm on KAC grounds.

The Samuel Nalangira Trio, a folk/world music group, will take the stage from 5 – 6:30 pm, followed by headliner Cosmic Knot. Cosmic Knot’s music, propelled by the sounds of nature, has won multiple awards and they have invented a new genre of music that involves plants playing with the band through the aid of an electronic device.

Foodies can indulge in delicious options from three food trucks. The Brick House Food Truck will be serving their classic Smashburger, two specialty burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and cheese curds. Taqueria Don Chepe, from Niles, MI, will be serving authentic Mexican food, including tacos with your choice of steak, chicken, ground beef, or al pastor. End dinner with authentic Hawaiian-style shaved ice from Lost Coast Shaved Ice.

Beer and wine lovers can enjoy a drink with friends from Round Barn Winery and The Livery. Pepsi products will also be available for purchase.

Additional information about the Block Party can be found online at krasl.org/art-fair/block-party.

For the safety of all guests and artwork, pets are prohibited in Lake Bluff Park and at the Block Party. Service animals are always welcome.

For those craving more Art Fair celebrations, save the date for Community Night at The Livery. A portion of profits from sales on June 8 from, 5 – 8 pm, will support access to the arts at Krasl Art Center.

Block Party general admission tickets are available for $5, while children under 12 can attend for free with registration. Day-of tickets can be purchased at the entrance of the event under Richard Hunt’s monumental sculpture, Rising Crossing Tides. KAC members enjoy free entry; renew online at canvas.krasl.org/memberships or in person at 707 Lake Boulevard, St. Joseph.
