The Zoo will be presenting two programs at Lakeshore Museum Center, 430 W. Clay Ave. in Muskegon, with live turtle specimens on display. This is a chance to get an up-close look at the physical and behavioral adaptations turtles and tortoises use to survive. The species on display may include the Blandings Turtle, Wood Turtle, Eastern Box Turtle, Spotted Turtle, Pancake Tortoise, and Chaco Tortoise.
The first session of the Zoo and You program will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the second session will begin at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, the Turtle Travels exhibit will be open, and Museum staff will have stations available for turtle-themed crafts.
Capacity at each presentation is limited to 35 guests. Tickets are free for Museum members and $5 for non-members, and can be bought online at thezooandyou.eventbrite.com or at the Museum Store.
