Michigan Sustainable Business Forum is hosting a webinar that will explore how indoor air quality can impact the health and productivity of employees and occupants. As concerns for indoor air quality are elevated to address potential risks of COVID-19 transmission in the workplace, building mechanics and design may be contributing to adverse health impacts in the workplace, from disease transmission to Sick Building Syndrome.
Participants will learn how to safely implement sustainability efforts and keep your employees healthy by considering issues that may affect a building’s health such as airflow, ventilation, biological or chemical contaminants, and old or faulty filters. Learn how to investigate and identify causes for Sick Building Syndrome, a phenomenon in which building occupants experience negative health symptoms over time without a specific identifiable cause.
As we develop a better understanding of the adverse effects the indoor environment has on health and what actions can be taken to reduce or prevent illnesses, we can move forward with sustainability efforts in a safer way. Learn more about this public health threat from two experts on building air quality and investigation, intervention and prevention of Sick Building Syndrome.
Presenters include:
Carol Helsel, General Manager, Third Coast Test and Balance
Alice Delia, PhD, Laboratory Director, Prism Analytical Technologies
This is part of a series of webinars hosted by West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum exploring sustainability and sustainable business in context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
