Come celebrate Independence Day in the historic town of Marshall, Michigan. Marshall is having its annual chicken barbecue, pet and bike parade, and Rotary Band concert. The festivities begin at 10 am with the bike and pet parade. The youth decorates their bikes and pets for the holiday and marches around the Brooks Memorial Fountain showing off their handy work. The Marshall Rotary Band concert begins at 11 am at the fountain circle with patriotic music and a tribute to those who have served in the military. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the festive music of our American heritage. The chicken barbecue starts serving at 11 am with freshly grilled chicken, pasta salad, roll and drink for $10. Hot dog meals include a dog with chips, applesauce and a juice box for $5. Buy tickets early at the Welcome Center in city hall. A few tickets may be available on July 4.
