Light up the season during the official lighting of our community holiday tree. Ice skating, karaoke, Santa Paws Pet Parade, luminaries, holiday treats and more will jumpstart the holiday spirit and make memories you can reminisce on for years to come.

Friday, November 29

Light up the Season – What an amazing turn out last year; come celebrate with us again! We’re decorating downtown South Haven up right again! From the gorgeous new tree in front of City Hall, the downtown streets, to the beautiful Dykman Park behind the ice rink! Ask anyone who was here last year - we really go all out!!!

 

Lighting of Luminaries Downtown, Caring Circle invites you to honor someone special with a beautiful holiday luminary. Lining the streets from City Hall down to Kalamazoo Street, this is a sight to behold! Click here for details and to purchase your tribute online: Luminaries.

 

Santa Paws Pet Parade Downtown, 4:30 pm, Line up starts at 4:15 at the south marina; parade starts at 4:30 and ends at City Hall around 4:45. Come see all the pets decked out in holiday sweaters, antlers and jingle bells! Decadent Dogs and Al-Van Humane Society are certain you will be absolutely charmed by the Santa Paws parade!

 

Official Lighting of the Community Holiday Tree Downtown, City Hall, 5:30 pm, A new tradition with an amazing turn out last year! Join in downtown at City Hall to flip the switch lighting up the holiday tree.

 

Christmas Karaoke Downtown, 4:30 pm to 5:30 and 5:45 - 7:30 pm, Join in and sing your favorite Christmas carols!

 

Ice Skating Downtown, Ice Rink / Pavilion, 5 pm to 7:30 pm, Bring your own skates and enjoy the ice rink for a free family fun night. First 250 guests skate free! If you don’t have your own skates, some will be available for rent.

 

Santa and Mrs. Claus Downtown, Dyckman Park behind the Pavilion, 5 pm 6:15 and 6:30 to 7:30 pm, Have your complementary photo taken with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the South Haven Elves!

 

Holiday Treats Downtown, Dykman Park / Pavilion, 5 to 7:30 pm, Warm up around the bonfires, roast marshmallows and enjoy complementary s’mores, delicious cookies and hot cocoa.

 

Ornament Craft South Haven Center for the Arts, 6 to 7:30 pm, Warm up at the South Haven Center for the Arts as you make a keepsake ornament for your tree.

 

Mistletoe Market, Come to the South Haven Center for the Arts for a day/or two and view all the beautiful items that our local artists have made (and artists from other areas). Two floors to walk through and view, pottery, jewelry, handmade mittens/scarves, paintings, wood carvings, etc. Enjoy the holiday atmosphere!

 

Saturday, November 30

 

Small Business Saturday, Shop local and support local businesses! You’ll find unique gifts and some great deals!

 

The Polar Express at Michigan Theatre, 10 to 11:50 am, Come Celebrate with the holiday classic film The Polar Express. Movie tickets are free and hot chocolate and popcorn combo will be just $2. Doors will open at 9:20 am. Offering both the upstairs and an accessible downstairs auditorium for this 10:00 am showing.

 

Christmas Carol Sing, 5 to 6 pmFirst United Methodist Church invites you to cap off your Holiday in the Park celebration by singing your favorite Christmas carols accompanied by piano, guitar and pipe organ in a picturesque holiday setting.
