Civil War Days in Three Oaks, Saturday, July 28th and Sunday, July 29th. Located in the Dewey Cannon Park just east of downtown come and see the historical and educational events. Join the Generals for historical accounts of the era.
Saturday events, 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, start with an Opening Ceremony on Dewey Cannon Park followed by Coffee with the General’s. There will be activities for children and historical presentations with General George Armstrong Custer, General Robert E. Lee at Dewey Cannon Park and Brigadier General Joshua L. Chamberlain, Mrs. Fanny Chamberlain at the Three Oaks Township Library, as well as “Battles” on the school grounds and a variety of musical venues.
Sunday events, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, will open at Dewey Cannon Park with a Church Service by Real Life at the Gazebo then General JEB Stuart will follow with a historical presentation. Following will be another “Battle” on the school grounds, the Shedd Cemetery Historical Tour ($5.00) then a Concert by the Harbor Country Singers on the Spring Creek Stage at the Three Oaks Arts & Education Center, followed by a presentation on the Iron Brigade/24th Michigan and Civil War Artillery. A special event will be presented on the Maudline Pump Organ Sunday afternoon at the Region of Three Oaks Museum presented by Linda Martin Mangold.
Sponsors and Supporters are the Region of Three Oaks Museum, the Three Oaks Township Library, School of American Music, Three Oaks Arts and Education Center, the Three Oaks Downtown Development Authority and the American Legion, Post 204.
