The tree lighting will also feature a new 14-foot tree, which will be placed in the middle of the lawn at the museum’s gardens. A smaller tree was located on the museum’s porch in previous years.

Arriving by a Cascade fire truck, Santa will be stationed inside the museum and available for visits with kids throughout the event. Mrs. Claus will be visiting with children in the gardens. There is no charge for visits or pictures with Santa or Mrs. Claus.

In addition to the tree in the museum’s gardens, holiday lights will be strung on the museum’s rooftop as well as several structures in Tassell Park and many river birch trees. There will also be second holiday tree, approximately 16-feet tall, located at the intersection of Old 28th Street and Cascade Road.

Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. It will begin at 5 p.m. at the Cascade Historical Museum, 2839 Thornapple River Drive SE.
