Grab your morning beverage and join us to learn more about birding and bird species! Each month, we highlight birds that you can find in our southwest Michigan backyards, woods and waters during this time of year.

Birds and Coffee chats are held from 10 to 11 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, via Zoom. The online chats are free, but registration is required to access meeting details.

Winter dates and species of focus include:

Jan. 12: Birding and mindfulness—Kristy Taylor from the Capital Area Audubon will join us to share ways to look at birding from a perspective of mindfulness, using your time outdoors to create a sense of peace, focus and enjoyment.

Feb. 9: Owls—Barred, Eastern Screech, Snowy, Barn and Great Horned owls.

March 9: Thrushes and allies—Eastern Bluebird, Swainson's Thrush, Wood Thrush, American Robin, and Veery.
