This iteration of the vampire predated Bram Stoker's Dracula by more than a century!  The lecture will examine the largely unknown American practice of exhuming and burning corpses thought to prey on the living in order to cure tuberculosis {then called consumption}.  He also includes a discussion of the single documented Michigan vampire incident from Mount Clemens in 1865.
