Downtown Holland is pleased to announce the line-up of entries for the 2021 Parade of Lights, scheduled for Tuesday, November 30 at 6:30 pm. The parade will feature over 70 floats, trucks, marching bands, walkers and more…all decorated in thousands of sparking holiday lights. Santa Claus himself will also arrive in Downtown Holland at the conclusion of the parade, greeting you and old alike as he makes his way down 8th Street. The 2021 Parade of Lights is proudly sponsored by Gentex Corporation.
“Gentex is proud to sponsor the 2021 Parade of Lights to welcome in the holidays,” said Seth Bushouse, Senior Director of Human Resources at Gentex. “We are pleased the parade is coming back this year and can’t wait to see all the lighted floats roll down 8th Street again.”
The Parade of Lights begins at 6:30 pm at the corner of 8th Street and Columbia Avenue in Downtown Holland and continues west down Eighth Street until it reaches the Eighth Street Market Place, home of the Holiday Kerstmarkt. The Kerstmarkt, hosted by the Holland Friends of Art, features local artisans selling their wares from wooden huts, similar to the popular Christmas Markets in Europe.
Parade attendees should plan head for the increase in traffic expected for the parade in Downtown Holland the evening of November 30. 8th Street will be closed to traffic and parking from Columbia Avenue to Maple Avenue beginning at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 30 in anticipation of the parade. Free public parking is available in surface lots off 7th and 9th Streets, at the 7th and 9th Street Parking Decks and at the Holland Civic Center Place.
