Tibbits Opera Foundation recognizes Coldwater Board of Public Utilities as one of its top level sponsors for the 2021 Summer Theatre season which opens June 16 at The Ponds of Coldwater.
In a statement about its Tibbits sponsorship Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) recognized the connection between the two organizations. Strong local support and engagement from community members have been the cornerstone of success for both. CBPU Board President Chris Stevens said, “We are proud to support the Tibbits Opera House Summer Theatre program, celebrating arts, music, and a culture that makes Coldwater unique.” The CBPU is honored to support an institution whose art and sense of community are important to strengthening Coldwater.
CBPU’s sponsorship support began in 2015, and often supported Tibbits’ large musicals including “West Side Story,” “Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” and “Oklahoma!” With the adapting Tibbits has had to do over the past year, sponsors are now recognized at three levels. CBPU continues at the top level.
Since its origination in 1891, the CBPU continues to provide safe, reliable, competitive, and efficient utility products and services to Coldwater residents including, electric, water and wastewater, garbage, television programming options, high-speed internet, digital phone service, and home warranty services. This year, they are excited to become a GigCity by bringing fiber internet, with 1-Gig speeds, to every home and business in Coldwater. According to Tibbits Executive Director Christine Delaney, “We are grateful for CBPU’s support, this year and for the past six years. They stuck with us last summer through all of the uncertainty and made that season possible. We honestly could not offer the shows we do without sponsors like CBPU who believe in the value of Tibbits.”
Tibbits Summer Theatre presents its 58th consecutive season of professional performances. In addition to the CBPU, other main sponsors for the season are Parrish Excavating, Inc.; and Frederick Family Dental Vandervoort, Christ & Fisher, P.C. Additional sponsors include Coldwater Orthodontics & Aligner Center; Dr. Jon & Seibra Herbener; the Bushouse Family; ASAMA Coldwater Manufacturing; Coldwater Exchange Club; Matthew C. Christopher, DDS; Great Lakes Chiropractic; Honor Credit Union; and Vested Risk Strategies. Additional funding is provided by the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
