Cherry Republic Names New Controller

Cherry Republic is happy to announce the addition of Julie Meredith to its leadership team in the role of controller.

She joins the cherry retailer from Elettric 80 Inc., where she was director of accounting and administration. Elettric 80 provides automated technology for warehouse environments, including laser-guided forklifts and robotic palletizers. Meredith holds a bachelor of arts degree in management from Simpson College in Indianola, IA.

“We are excited to have Julie join the Cherry Republic team. Her experience and skills will continue to elevate the company as a leader in the region and state,” says Cherry Republic CEO Todd Ciolek.

Meredith says that Cherry Republic’s values and philosophy struck a chord with her. “The focus on the local community and sharing what we all love about Northern Michigan with the rest of the world — the wonderful local produce, the fun-loving lifestyle, and the appreciation for nature and community — align really well with my own values,” she says. “I’m looking forward to contributing towards the company’s goals and becoming a part of the Cherry Republic community.”

Meredith and her husband, Bill (originally from Northern Michigan), have a daughter and are relocating to Northern Michigan from Chicago. They enjoy hiking, boating, skiing, and biking, and they want their daughter to share the same love of nature and the outdoors. “We also love to travel and have already taken our daughter on trips to Italy, Ireland, Alaska, NYC, as well as
other various parts of the U.S.,” she adds. “We can’t wait to be able to freely travel again!”
