As we head into December, there’s lots of festive fun to be had around West Michigan. Check out some ways to ring in the holiday season in our conversation with FOX 17.
Lowell Christmas Festivities
Saturday, December 4th, Lowell will host their Christmas Festivities! During the day, enjoy shopping throughout Lowell, an art and craft holiday sale, a live nativity scene, Rudolph’s Craft Workshop, visits with Santa Claus, and a pancake dinner at the fairgrounds. Then, at 6pm, the Annual Night-time Santa Parade will begin to conclude the full day of holiday fun – this year’s parade theme is Light it Up with the Magic of Christmas! You won’t want to miss it!
Saugatuck Annual Whootville Christmas Parade
Head to Saugatuck on Saturday, December 4, for their Annual Whootville Christmas Parade. Bring your family and friends for an entire day of Holiday Cheer! The parade kicks off at 1pm at Wicks Park and loops through most of the business district in downtown Saugatuck. Everyone is encouraged to wear festival Whootville (like the characters in How the Grinch Stole Christmas) and/or Christmas attire and join in the fun as part of the parade.
Festival of Wreaths in Muskegon
In Muskegon, the annual Festival of Wreaths is taking place now through December 5. The Muskegon Museum of Art’s new, outdoor holiday event spreads the holiday spirit throughout downtown Muskegon. Participants can take a “wreath walk” to find and view designer wreaths on display at participating businesses in the area. The Muskegon Museum of Art will also present a small gallery display of decor during the run of the Festival. A Walking Guide with the location of all the wreaths is available at the Muskegon Museum of Art Store, as well as at participating businesses. The wreaths and decor will also be available to bid on during the festival in an online auction, with proceeds supporting programming at the MMA.
