Windmill Island Gardens is excited to announce the return of the once popular Make and Take series here in the park! Make and Take classes will consist of a seasonal project that community members are invited to join us in creating at Windmill Island Gardens. Each Make and Take class will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30pm – 6:30pm and will be led by Windmill Island Gardens staff or other community arts partners creating opportunities for the community to get together to create unique pieces to take home, all with an underlying theme of gardening or Dutch culture.
The first Make and Take class will be creating Mod Podge Pumpkins on Tuesday, November 12 from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. The community is invited to join Windmill Island Gardens staff in decoupaging their own unique fall centerpiece, perfect for Thanksgiving season décor using dried flowers, fall fabrics, ribbon, and more! No experience is necessary for this craft, and all materials as well as fall refreshments will be provided. The December Make and Take class is currently taking registrations as well to create custom Holiday Door Décor on Tuesday, December 10 from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. This Make and Take will be led by Windmill Island Gardens staff who will help attendees piece together unique, one-of-a-kind door swag decorations using fresh cut greenery from plants right here at Windmill Island Gardens! Attendees can decorate their greenery swags with holiday themed décor, ribbons, and more. No experience is necessary for this craft, and all materials as well as holiday refreshments will be provided.
