Visit Windmill Island Gardens this Monday for more fun with our Books and Blooms series! The Holland Museum will host this week’s Books and Blooms activity on Monday, July 28! Each Books and Blooms will begin with a Story Time hosted by the Herrick District Library at 10:00 am, followed by a fun, educational, and hands-on activity at 10:30 am. During the Books and Blooms series, children can not only enjoy interactive stories, songs, and activities, but also enjoy our children’s carousel, playground, and see our chickens all on Windmill Island Gardens’ park grounds every Monday morning through August 18.
This Monday during Books and Blooms, kids will discover the power of wind with the Holland Museum with a Wacky Wind activity! Join museum staff for an exciting hands-on STEAM activity exploring wind energy and air resistance. Children can build their own wind-powered windmill to see how wind can generate motion. Then, experiment with air resistance by designing and launching their very own balloon powered rocket. Engage in interactive learning and unleash your creativity in this fun and educational experience for all ages!
The Holland Museum connects people with the history of Holland and why it matters. Through interaction with Holland’s history, we as citizens can use what we learn from the past to build a better future. The Holland Museum’s vision is to be a cultural leader and community collaborator inspiring the next generation.
