Adults interested in assisting with maple syrup production at the W.K. Experimental Forest are invited to an upcoming training.

The in-person training will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, in the Kellogg Forest Classroom. The meeting will introduce prospective volunteers to the maple syrup production process and provide folks with an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the program with MSU staff and current volunteers. Duties such as checking and collecting sap, boiling sap, and canning syrup will be covered. Volunteers can sign up for specific on-call tasks.

Maple syrup production is weather dependent and runs from February through March. Contact KJ Kettler to register for the maple syrup production training.
