Get ready for a rocking, round-trip journey to the glory days of rock ‘n’ roll as Tibbits Opera House welcomes Commotion, a Tribute to the Music of Creedence Clearwater Revival, on Saturday, January 25, 2025!

Featuring Steve McLain on lead vocals, with guitarist Jimmy Ryan, drummer Mark Ellis and bassist George Foster, Commotion describes their set list as “a rollercoaster ride through Creedence Clearwater Revival’s greatest hits,” promising to transport audiences to the golden age of the band known as CCR, with classic singles such as “Bad Moon Rising,” “Down on the Corner,” “Fortunate Son,” “Green River,” “Have You Ever Seen the Rain,” “Lookin’ Out My Back Door” and “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” to name a few.

From August of 1969 to December of 1970, CCR released four LP albums, which each went to the top 5 of the US charts (including two that hit No. 1), and have all been certified RIAA Platinum—three of them at least twice. July 1970’s “Cosmo’s Factory” was certified quadruple-platinum and hit No. 1 in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Finland and Norway.

“Commotion pride themselves on their unparalleled attention to detail and commitment to faithfully reproducing the iconic CCR sound,” according to the band’s bio.

Tickets for Commotion range from $25 to $54, with discounts available for Tibbits members. The performance will be held at the historic Tibbits Opera House, 14 S. Hanchett St., in Coldwater, Michigan. Doors to the lobbies, art gallery, and Ghost Light Bar will open at 6 p.m., with seating beginning at 6:30 p.m.

For those who want to get up and groove, Tibbits is making an “On Your Feet” section available for those who wish to stand and/or dance through the show without worrying about bothering other concert-goers. Tickets for this section are demarcated on the ticketing page for Commotion at Tibbits.org.

Since its opening in 1882, Tibbits Opera House has brought touring artists to the community of Coldwater, Michigan. It continues that tradition nearly a century and a half later with musicals, plays, concerts, cultural events, movies, and more, serving arts lovers of all ages.
