Tibbits Opera House and Pines Behavioral Health will host a forum on the connection between health and society’s dependence on technology after the matinee show of “Dear Evan Hansen” on Wednesday, June 24 at 5pm.

Hear from the director, cast and creative team of “Dear Evan Hansen” as they are joined by counselors from Pines Behavioral Health to discuss the relationship between technology and our well-being that is found both in the show and our modern world.

What is technology doing to our mental health? How do we keep technology from influencing our self-confidence or self-perception? What tools do we have to strengthen our personal relationships amidst these new influences? Are there ways to reach a healthy balance of social media within our lives? As society’s dependence on technology continues to grow, more and more questions arise about what is the cost in terms of the health and well-being of our children, our families, our relationships and society as a whole.

“Dear Evan Hansen” is a beautiful musical exploration of what it means to be a teenager in this modern world of technology and social media. It becomes a launching point into the conversation. The feelings portrayed by characters in this show—isolation, self-comparison, inferiority—affect people of all ages.

This forum is free and open to the public. A ticket to the show is not required to listen, learn and join the conversation. It will be held in the Tibbits Art Gallery at 14 S. Hanchett Street on Wednesday, June 24 at 5pm.

“Dear Evan Hansen” runs June 19, 20, 24, 25, 26 and 27. Tickets and information are available at Tibbits.org or by calling 517.278.6029. All performances are held at the historic Tibbits Opera House at 14 S. Hanchett Street, in Coldwater.
